Positive Notes
Pachama’s journey entered a new chapter with its acquisition by Carbon Direct, bringing together two leaders in climate intelligence and carbon markets to accelerate the integrity and scale of nature-based solutions. Over its years of operation, Pachama helped shape the modern forest carbon ecosystem—selling and booking more than 6 million carbon credits and channeling critical capital into conservation and restoration projects worldwide.
From launching the Net Zero Marketplace with Salesforce and partnering with Verra to digitize carbon credit verification, to securing $55M in funding and gaining global recognition—from the Global Cleantech 100 to the World Economic Forum—Pachama consistently pushed the boundaries of technology in climate action. The company played a central role in initiatives like Regenera América with Mercado Libre, supporting projects set to restore or conserve 15,000 hectares of native forest, and became the technology partner for the Symbiosis Coalition (Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, Meta), helping facilitate large-scale commitments to nature-based carbon removal. Last year, its DMRV (Digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) technology raised the bar for transparency and credibility in voluntary carbon markets.
Through innovation, rigorous standards, and strategic partnerships, Pachama left a lasting mark on how forests are measured, financed, and protected. Its legacy lives on in the millions of tons of CO₂ addressed, the hectares conserved, and the global movement toward higher-integrity climate solutions it helped catalyze.
